CoreAlign®

A brand new form of exercise technology has just been released to the world of rehab and fitness. In the same fashion that Pilates exercise caught a massive wave of success in the 90s and beyond, so this new approach is on track to rise to equal, if not greater heights of success.

Introducing CoreAlign®. Sporting two independent tracks and a workout ladder, the apparatus is ideally crafted to induce body sculpting and core strengthening fast and effectively.

Who benefits? People rehabilitating from back and neck pain, joint problems, and sports injuries are ideally suited for treatment with CoreAlign®. Aging adults, people with osteoporosis, and others with pain conditions also benefit because of the low impact nature of the exercises. And high level athletes, including racquet enthusiasts, runners, and golfers will find the method challenging and varied, while also enabling them to establish a powerful core for improved sport performance.

Notably, Alpine Physical Therapy is now home to one of the first national training centers in the world for CoreAlign®. Samantha Schoeneman, a PMA certified Pilates Instructor and Physical Therapist at Alpine, happened upon the device in 2009 at an international Pilates trade show. While there, she got to meet the unit’s inventor, Jonathan Hoffman, a physical therapist from Tel Aviv, Israel.

Immediately seeing the potential of CoreAlign®, Sam arranged to go through advanced training. Having completed all three levels of certification, she attained status as a Master Instructor in March was initially one of only 12 people in the world with this distinction.

Remarkably, the first 100 CoreAlign® units were built and shipped in March 2010. Alpine Physical Therapy received four of them and was thus one of the only clinics in the nation to have this technology.

CoreAlign

These units are now developed and marketed through Balanced Body Pilates, a company that penetrates over 60% of the world’s Pilates market. As such, they are at the forefront in Pilates exercise. Significantly, they immediately identified CoreAlign® as a brilliant new machine and method and are now positioned to take the technology to the rehab and fitness industries.

Sam Schoeneman, Master CoreAlign® Instructor

CoreAlignBalanced Body Pilates selected Sam on the basis that she is a fully certified Pilates Instructor as well as a physical therapist. In 2009, they commissioned Sam to test the prototype and to assist in the development of the CoreAlign® product.

Alpine’s owner Brent Dodge, along with Clinic Manager Angela Listug, completed Level 1 Certification in San Diego last month. Together, Brent and Angela will assist Sam in instructing Alpine’s remaining 7 physical therapists on April 3rd and 4th.

CoreAlign® inventor Jonathan Hoffman traveled from his home in Israel to Missoula on March 31st and stayed through the weekend to assist with integrating this new method into the continuum of rehab, fitness, and sport performance. While here Jonathan also oversaw Alpine’s first certification course for all of Alpine’s physical therapists. Five fitness and Pilates instructors were present for the course, which was held at Alpine Physical Therapy’s south clinic within the Peak Health & Wellness Center.

Watch this video interview with Jonathan and Sam.

CoreAlign® is heating up to take the rehab and fitness world by storm, and we’re proud at Alpine Physical Therapy to pioneer tomorrow’s technology . . . today.

CoreAlign™: A new way to expand
rehab and fitness services

By Brent Dodge, PT, OCS, CMPT, CSCS.

Riding the wave of a new rehab and fitness trend can put your career or
business in the driver’s seat. But sometimes you realize it’s more than a trend. Take Pilates. I heard of it in the 1990s; I embraced it in the 2000s. Doing so placed my skillset and PT practice in the forefront, even in a market saturated with PT clinics. more

Repair and strengthen: Physical therapists, exercise instructors call CoreAlign ‘avant garde,’ the next big thing

By JAMIE KELLY of the Missoulian.

Like all things done well, moving your body correctly is an art.

That’s the philosophy of physical therapist Jonathan Hoffman, who says understanding and mastering your body’s kinetics is no different from tackling a Mozart sonata.

“People learn to use their bodies like they learn how to use the piano,” said Hoffman, an Israeli citizen who was in Missoula on Friday to introduce his physical therapy and exercise machine, which he considers revolutionary. more
